Wah KAo, this took damn long...

Before my Bali post, i shall talk about today...

Woke up-Breakfast-Lunch-Study-Com-Tuition-Dinner-TV-Now

Took out my spider puzzle I bought in NZ 3 years ago, solved it again, cant believe i took an hour last time in the motel. haha. Heres the pic of it completed...

Sadly, this is just novice level, as you can see here: In the Yellow side there are web traces so the whole web fits together... In expert level, every piece has the same pattern and a fly on it, making it a lot harder....

Anyway, flipping it over doesn't solve it for you...:(

To be honest this had to be the most fun holiday with my family yet.... For several reasons...

1. Less nagging from my mum
2. More freedom
3. Dont always have to follow parents around thanks to my bro...
4. Etc...

Anyway...long post starts here:

17th December 2008

Woke up just in time to do stuff such as soccermanager, soccernet, facebook, etc...... Watched TV and then ate a breakfast consisting of a cup of milk and a tablespoon of cod liver oil... Brother woke up late again... took a bath and changed...
ne outside PP had 7300 on Tuesday... So, my bro head to PP while my mom and I called for a cab, after waiting, we went there, picked him up and headed for the airp
We were all set to go before 11am but then my Dad called from the airport for my us to head down to PP to change money as the rate at the airport sucked ass, 6800... while the oort...
Met up with father at the airport, Bro told him that the rate there had dropped to 7100... Nvrmine though, we entered the departure hall and sat down for snacks, i had a choco cake while my bro had a cheese one... After that, I walked around wif my bro to look for Gloria Jean's coffee as we had a coupon, but to no avail... Soon, we boarded the plane at 1pm...

Took flight SQ???, watched Kungfu panda on board and despite the flight being just over 2hrs long, i coundn't finish the movie... Also had lunch on board... chicken with potatoes, a cup of water, apple juice and a nestle ice cream.. Dunno whether they are downsizing their meals as i remembered having peanuts before that and biscuits included with the meal and ben and jerry's ice cream... Or mayb because it was a short flight..

Arrived there at around 3.30pm and the exterior somehow reminded me of ECP's resorts while the interior reminded me of the resort I stayed while i was in Pataya last year... After all the checking in and stuff, money changing, we took this car to the nearby Bali Dynasty Resort... Hotel is so nice... after checking in, we went to our rooms, 165 for my parents while 167 for me and my bro, sadly , the rooms were on ground floor... The rooms had a view of the garden with a small waterfall, there was also a door for access to the outside but was hard to lock...

After that, my bro and I went for a walk at the beach, on the way there, we passed the pool with many angmors and a long slide into the pool, also, we passed many shops which sold Bintang beer T-shirts... Walks around the beach, towards the left side first, but there was nothing but an excavator and many stray dogs...Walked to right side later and could see much more ppl as it was closer to town... Walked back to resort after parents msg us to go back as they were booking a tour...

Had to go to town to book so all of us went to the beach again and walked to right... Walked across a sandy path to town and saw a dead rat.. Walked a lot, kept looking at money changer's xchange rate's kept getting higher.. haha, went to this Official Tourist Info outlet which amazed my mum.... My Dad talked with the guy for like half an hour.... After that, I was complaining for a drink so we went to a shop called mIn mart which colours made it look like a rip off of 7-11... Walked and walked.... Enter this Nike shop selling a Man Utd jersey for around 83 bucks if the rate was 7100, entered enetered some clothes shops so that my bro could know their manufacturer as he was making shirts with his friends... Finally saw this money changer whose xchange rate was a whopping 7695 rupiahs for an sgd... ahhh..damn it...

Went to a peranakan restaurant for dinner, thanks to my mum getting obsessed with the little nyonya, a rather dumb show... Random walking after dinner, i wanted to poop, then we realised we left our bag in the restaurant, luckily it was stilll there when my bro went back to retrieve it... then my bro saw this shop called Drum Factory and went inside, after looking and bargaining, he got a djembe drum for 300,000 rupiah... After that, we visited the memorial for the Bali bombing memorial...stupid terrorists...
Walking, walking...and then we went to a restaurant or bar for drinks where there was a band playing....Drank ice choco while my bro had some wine thingy i guess, soon after, the band finally played a song me, my bro and dad knew, Red Hot Chili Peppers' Under the Bridge, it was quite nice, sadly they failed to do the backing vocals for the part after the last chorus... Walked back after that, on the way , we walked past another restaurant and guess what, another woman was singing Under the Bridge, maybe that's the trademark Bali song....haha..
Returned to Hotel, bathed, watched some movie about two cashiers... quite lame, slept.....

18th December 2008

Woke up at 7am and washed up, changed... Went for breakfast at around 8 and ate quite alot, still dont understand why the drink cups are so tiny... Waited for the driver to pick us up at 8.30 to bring us for a tour, finally he came and we boarded the car, where he drove for more than an hour... I fell asleep, woke up to find us entering a batik factory... Went in, see all the machines... also got some cool dog sleeping there... Some guy explained to us the process of making it.. Then we entered the shop and my bro forced me to wear this hat...

My mum bought a bag and my bro bought one for someone else, we left eh place... After that, we went to silver shops, painting shops, craftings, and reached this temple, where it was drizzling and then the rain got kinda heavy... Finally it stopped and we paid the entrance fee and had to put on a sarong, walked around the temple, quite interesting...... Then we went to a coffee plantation. They had luwak coffee there, coffee made from luwak's droppings... They had a tiny cafe there with a beautiful scenery with nothing but pure nature, the hot choco and normal coffees were free, but the luwak coffee's cost covered up for the rest... We went to the shop later, bought 6 bars of very ex choco, like 7 bucks a bar, bought stuff like coffee powder, etc...

Ate choco on the car, counted the no. of mosquito bites i had..finally we went for lunch at some buffet restaurant where you can sit outside for a view of the volcano... Since it was raining cats and dogs at that time, there was natural air con outside, sadly , fog covered the volcano and we could only see it for a few minutes...

After that we went to a plantation where there were terraces on a hill... After that we went to the monkey forest... Wild monkeys all over.. LOL, some monkeys even went to steal food from a bunch of angmors, they so scared they even throw their food out and ran away.. Luckily we left the fruits we plucked from the plantation in the car...phew... Walked to this place whcih i think is some monkey temple or something, looks okay.. left the place afterwards where we went to some market and my bro bought a didgeridoo...

Finally after all that adventure iot was time to go back to town, long ride back again... saw this statue which the guide said is some water god... we dropped off at some clothes shop where i bought a shirts... The shirts there are kinda vulgar there.... so i just picked a normal one... After that we went to some restaurant for dinner, i had chicken kebab and some banana honey juice... ice cream afterwards... Soon, it was the long walk back to the resort...entered some shopping centre for toilet reasons, reminded me of urban singapore...something i didnt want... Walked and walked, went to beach for awhile, waves were big, made my bro wanna go surf 2mrw... Finally, we got back at around 10...

Bathed, washed up, tried on my new shirt... watched abit of goal 2, match was real lame, then we watched some show called parental control on channel V which was Damn Funny, Damn Stupid and Damn Fake... My bro played his didgeridoo while i played the drum and we started jamming, haha, we need serious improvement if we wanna busk at clark kee...
19th December 2008

Morning, 4am, woke up due to running nose again and went to my parents; room for medicine... After waking up later, i created this beat with the drum which seriously annoyed my bro , ha, i am still playing it now... Breakfast and stuff, then it was time to take the car to some other beach for watersports... When we reached there, we were greeted by this super friendly guy who also knew chinese, after looking at their photos, some with famous ppl and watched their videos, we were convinced enough and went diving... Changed into super tight suits, and got on to some boat, which took us far out to sea while the instructor explained to us how to use the equipment... Put on our goggles and flippers and we were all set... Got to water last, the bag pack was not very heavy... breathing was rather easy... Soon, we went in deep enough to see fishes swimming around while the instructors took pics and videos and gave us bread to feed the fish... Ears hurt a little due to pressure... After some time, we went back up and my bro and I went snorkeling..

Bloody hell, i was swimming half way when he come push me in the sea, wah piang the sea water go in my mouth...Swam around, stared at dozens of sea weed....while the ppl on the boat took pics... Soon we got back up... and it was time for the second activity...which was the flying fish for my bro and i....

So, whats a flying fish? Basically u lie in this giant float and an instructor just stands above you. A speed boat pulls it across the water and after some time, the float will be lifted into the air for sokme time... Rode it and it was really fun, sadly it was kinda short...dunno why they called it fly fish, looked more like 3 pencils and a banana to me...

After changing and having a drink, we got our cd with the pics and movies as promised, thanked the ppl there and left for the hotel once again... After reaching there, my dad paid the driver and it was the last time we saw him, thanks alot....though i doubt he'll read my blog...

After that we watched abit of goal 2 again and jammed again... After that, we discussed with parents on where to go, since we were going elsewhere... we got some cash from my dad and left fro the beach... Walked to the otherside... and then this guy asked if we wanted to learn surfing... we agreed and paid him, and there was another guy wanting to sell fake tatoos to us for 5 bucks... lol, we told him we'll take a look afterwards...

So we went surfing and each of us had 3 turns each before switching... We went quite far out but the water was only at shoulder level... but the waves could be real big... At the beginning, my positioning was bad and i always fell off the back of the surf.. Also we learnt that July was the best time for surfing here so mayb i'll go there next time...Gradually i go better and managed to succeed once, but then i had a problem of taking too long to stand up... My bro was rather fine and he was really getting the hang off it late on...Also, the waves were getting smaller and the amount was dwindling..and then, i lost my googles... At 4.15pm, after more than 2hrs of fun, we stopped as we had to and thanked the guy for his guidance... then the tatoo guy came along again... and ridiculously said, " i'll trade your shirt for a tatoo." lol...

Bought some strawberry drink which made my tongue and lips real red while my bro bought Bintang beer... I tried abit, was quite okay... Walked around in the town and bought donuts for our lunch, then, on the way back, there were two angmors carrying cartons of Bintang and there were at least 5 ppl like motorbikers, security guards who saw them all asked for one.. lol, i was thinking of doing that too but sadly we coundnt find anyone...

Reached resort at 5.10 and waited 50mins for our parents as their spa was 2hrs long... My mum threw away the beer bottle my bro wanted to keep as a souvenir. lol.Took a bath and then we went for dinner nearby.... Went back, played the annoying beat again and slept...

HOLY CRAP IT'S THE LAST DAY...

Did alot of random walking due to the lack of money we had, just enough to but lunch... Went back before 12 to pack and move everything to the store room for check out... Walked around again..., finally went back in time for a bath at the departure lounge and then we took our stuff, boarded a car for the airport... Reached airport, checked in, did stuff, shopped abit, only could afford 3 drinks, a small tolberone and 6 ferrero rochers after paying airport taxes...:(
At 8.00pm, we finally boarded the pane and said goodbye to Bali... :(

Watched Get smart on board and had the same dinner just that there was no ice cream but a choco cake... Reached Sg at 10+, stupid passport reading machine cant work..., did stuff, collect luggages and took a cab home...

Bali was awesome, a totally different place from Singapore, life is carefree and you can do alot more stuff there, like surfing... There are natural beaches, plantations, volcanoes and forests, whereas singapore is so fake...Bali was a truly enjoyable journey, and i hope you haven fallen asleep... :)
